Partner terms
Last updated September 26, 2026
These terms apply to everyone in the TRI partner program. Applying or using a partner link means you agree to them. Version 2026-09-26.
1. Disclose, every time
Every post, video, email or page that links to TRI must clearly say you may earn a commission, close to the link and before any "click here", in words people understand, for example: "I earn a commission if you sign up through my link." This is required by the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides.
2. Claims you may make
- TRI shows all three credit bureaus and the scores mortgage lenders use.
- TRI shows your likely lender score: the middle of your three bureau scores.
- Checking your own credit on TRI does not affect your scores.
- The free plan includes your Experian report and VantageScore 4.0. No card needed.
- TRI tracks disputes and freezes with each bureau for free.
3. Claims you may never make
- Any promise or estimate of a score increase ("raise your score 100 points").
- Any promise of approval, a rate, or a loan ("get approved for a mortgage").
- Removing, deleting or fixing accurate negative items, or calling TRI credit repair.
- "Free credit report" in an ad headline, or implying the paid plan is free.
- Saying or implying TRI is Experian, Equifax, TransUnion or a government program.
- Using TRI screenshots with real personal data, or fake testimonials.
4. Where you may promote
- No spam. Emails must follow CAN-SPAM and go only to people who opted in to hear from you.
- No bidding on "TRI Monitoring", "trimonitoring" or misspellings in search ads without written approval.
- No paying or rewarding people to sign up, and no signing up yourself or people in your household.
- No cookie stuffing, forced clicks, pop-unders or hidden links.
5. How credit and commissions work
- A visitor is credited to you for 60 days after their last click on your link or visit to your landing page. The last partner click wins.
- A partner or promo code typed at sign-up credits you even without a click, and wins over an earlier click by someone else.
- You earn a bounty when a referred person verifies their identity with the bureaus, and another when they start their first paid plan. Amounts are shown in your dashboard.
- You also earn a monthly share of each renewal that person pays, for the number of renewals shown in your dashboard.
- Levels: Starter (0+ paid upgrades in the last 30 days), Pro (10+ paid upgrades in the last 30 days, +25%), Elite (50+ paid upgrades in the last 30 days, +50%). Your level when an earning is created sets its boost.
- If a partner you recruited earns money, you earn an extra 10% of it, paid by TRI. It is never taken from their earnings. Recruiting only counts through your recruit link, and you may not recruit yourself.
- Earnings are held for 30 days, then approved. Earnings tied to self-referrals, fraud, refunds, deleted accounts inside the hold, or a rule break are reversed.
6. Payouts
- Approved earnings are paid between the 1st and 5th of each month when your balance is at least $25. Smaller balances roll over.
- Bank deposits run through Stripe, which collects your bank details and tax form directly. PayPal partners must send a completed W-9 before their first payout.
- US partners paid $600 or more in a year receive a Form 1099.
7. Data
You see counts and commissions only. You never receive referred people's names, emails, reports or scores, and you may not try to get them.
8. Ending the program
Either side can end participation at any time. We may pause an account while we review activity. Unpaid approved commissions earned in good standing are paid out.
